This genuine Mattel set comes from the 2003 first issue of the doll series “1 Modern Circle” – a fictional independent film production company based in Los Angeles, producing a film called Love in the City of Angels. This clothing set came with accessories but here includes only the original duster jacket and pants worn by Barbie, the film company producer. The slimline knee-length jacket is constructed of lightweight silk-like holographic (color-shift) green material, partially lined (sleeves are not lined). Two side slits allow for easier leg movement. Matching slimline pants have ankle slits for easier dressing, with a front waist adornment of double-swag strung black tube beads. The jacket has coordinating black beaded embellishments on the lapel/front edges to mimic beaded button closures; however, these are decorative only. The jacket slips on, and the pants have a back snap closure.
NOTE: Clothing was originally designed for the Mattel jointed high-heel doll with slim swivel waist. The jacket sleeves are very narrow, and will be easier to put on modern fashion dolls with slender or removable hands. The length of the sleeves and pants are cut for a standard Barbie height, and therefore the pants will appear as cropped on taller dolls. These unique and nicely tailored garments will make a great addition to any discerning doll’s wardrobe.
