NUDE. This Alysa doll from the Integrity Janay and Friends play-line has captivating stylized side-glancing gray eyes and long black hair in a high ponytail. Originally a basic “careers” doll with Mattel’s typical generic Asian face sculpt, this doll features straight side-parted black hair and light complexion, rebodied on a repro-clone belly-button-style fashionista body with articulation at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, and knees (double-jointed), with high-heel feet. REDRESSED. Bob Mackie’s 1998 Holday Barbie with a grand big-curls updo is wearing fourth in the Barbie Classique series, “Midnight Gala,” consisting of the following:
- Gown – Strapless tulle-lined black velvet gown with gold glitter pattern and multi-color jewel adornment. Zips in back.
- Cape – Fully lined black velvet shawl-collar ball gown cape that slips on with elastic loops to secure to upper arms and hooks in front.
- Headband – Coordinating lined jeweled velvet headband that hooks in back.
- Shoes – The shoes included with this ensemble are hard plastic with shiny gold surface and sculpted toe-box jewels – these are not the original shoes that came with this outfit.

This coating is water soluble, will not harm the doll, and can be removed with a damp wash cloth. Alternatively, the cape and gown can be soaked in a vat of hot water with mild detergent (non-bleaching) to leach out excess dye. This is the standard method to colorfast a garment with staining/excess dye.
