Miscellaneous Doll-Related Online Resources
This is a starter list that we intend to add to and modify as time goes on. For now, we’re listing just a few sources of information we think might be of interest to other doll collectors. Some of the references are pretty old, but they’ve been included for anyone looking for information on older fashion dolls (mainly Barbie and Integrity at this point).
There are many more amazingly talented doll artists and enthusiasts on YouTube, Instagram, Flickr, and Facebook collector groups. Again, this is simply a starter list. If you know of more information resources you think would be helpful, please let us know the URLs so we can check them out and share them here.

Various Doll-Related YouTube Channels
Here’s a partial list of available doll-related YouTube channels with content offering tutorials on doll customizing or DIY ideas on creating props and dioramas for dolls. This is not a complete list, but it is a start.
We tried to include only the channels that are family-friendly in this list. Some channels are listed mainly for their value as a general resource for doll information and maintenance. Others are listed purely for the creative aspect and idea resource. Visit each channel’s video lineup to find content that is of interest to you. Signing up for a Youtube account will allow you to save videos to your account channel to create your own playlists and refer back to them as often as you like, as long as the content creators leave the content available.
WARNING: Due to an FCC ruling against Google, YouTube is changing its rules, beginning January 2020, for videos YouTube assumes will be viewed by individuals under 13 years of age. “Child”-oriented videos (which could include videos regarding dolls), may be demonetized to prevent selective ads being shown to viewers, and comments may be turned off to prevent viewers from interacting with video creators. Many doll-oriented video creators derive income from their content on YouTube and enjoy interacting with their fans, some of whom are collectors or doll artists themselves. A few video creators have designated their content as child-oriented, while others have sought exceptions to make their content remain available to adult collectors and viewers. As a result, some tutorials and doll reviews intended for adult viewers may disappear from YouTube or become non-searchable.

Special health cautions...
*(1) SPECIAL CAUTION: Talcum-based powder such as baby powder or shower powder has been reported to have a causal relationship with long-term health risks such as certain types of cancer due to asbestos contamination and other issues, so be advised and research this issue properly before using talc-based products. No known reports suggest that cornstarch poses similar potential health risks; however, with any fine-particle powder substance, special care should be taken to avoid inhaling particles.
*(2) SPECIAL CAUTION: Plasticizers (usually phthalates) used in the vinyl-making process have been reported to have a causal relationship with long-term health risks such as hormone disruption, asthma, cancer, and more. Vinyl is a prevalent component in many industrial and toy products, including the majority of play-line dolls, so precautions are advised. Extended enclosed exposure to vinyl products (coverings, etc.) in vehicles and living/working interior areas can create adverse reactions. Use precautions (gloves, ventilation masks, etc.) when repeatedly handling older vinyl products, especially those that show evidence of plasticizer leakage. There is no known treatment that will “cure” plasticizer seepage in a doll. Certain treatments or precautions can lessen the damage to items due to this condition, but will not stop the deterioration. Properly discard unwanted deteriorating vinyl dolls rather than allow children to play with these items and possibly expose them to health risks.
