DOLLS DRESSED – NRFB. 2003 C4656 UPC 027084116724. Anniversary Edition. This new-in-box BARBIE & KEN doll giftset celebrates Barbie’s 45th anniversary of her worldwide introduction in 1959. Brunette Barbie and Ken are represented as Silkstone dolls with upgraded “traditional” face sculpts used for vintage dolls. Barbie’s long coppery brown hair is styled in a side part with front portions swept back, and the entirety gathered in a long braided high ponytail. She wears a lined floor-length black and pink graffiti mermaid gown with sweetheart strapless neckline, pink opera gloves, and white faux fur stole. Ken’s similarly colored rooted hair is styled in a loose short cut, giving him a debonair devil-may-care look combined with a white tuxedo jacket, black trousers, and white shirt with black bowtie.

This giftset includes frameable Robert Best signed print of dolls’ design sketch, plus doll stands, COA, and other docs stored behind inner box. The box is structurally sound and in overall visibly good shape, with very few flaws – a few scuffs and faint dents on plastic cover, visible only in direct bright light, small manufacturing creases on front and sides of lid, tiny nick on top panel, and a couple minor scuffs on edges of lid and back panel. Visually this giftset would serve well for in-box on-shelf display and is a special item to add to any curated doll collection – especially one featuring Silkstones.
